Don't Get Fired At Work Minigames: Each Round's Trigger and How to Win
The Don't Get Fired at Work minigames covered here — the hack rhythm game, laptop free-for-all, Paper War, the boss's roll call, boss paper-throwing, Musical Chairs, Hot Coffee, Find the Button and the limited-time Halloween skeleton fight — with when each one triggers and the exact actions that complete it.
Minigames are a built-in part of the workday in Don't Get Fired at Work. They close out the day after the ranked work phase, fill the mandatory break, and take over the schedule on boss day off. Quick rounds also interrupt the shift itself — the hack rhythm game, the laptop free-for-all, Paper War and the boss's roll call. Here is what each round below asks of you: when it starts, and the exact actions that complete it. An update has also just added two more break-time minigames.

When the minigames trigger
- After the work phase. Your work amount ranks you on a leaderboard that pays Bobux, the currency for upgrades. Once the work and email phase wraps up, the office plays a minigame or two to end the day.
- During mandatory break time. When HR says take a break, a round starts before everyone is sent back to work.
- On boss day off. The boss is away and the office chains several minigames back to back.
Separate from those three slots, quick rounds can interrupt a normal shift — the hack rhythm game, the laptop free-for-all, Paper War and the boss's roll call are all covered below.

Rounds that hit during the workday
Hack — the rhythm game that steals work
From the work screen you can launch a hack on a co-worker. It opens a full rhythm game: a sequence of W/A/S/D keys scrolls up — runs like W A W W, later D A A D W S — and you press them in order. Clear the whole sequence and part of the target's work is added to yours; completed runs have shown 15% and 21% stolen, and as long as every note lands, your stress level doesn't go up at all. The exact percentage varies from run to run.
If a co-worker hacks you instead, the same kind of key sequence appears on your screen. Play it well and the attempt ends with 'Hack is blocked'. The rest of the sabotage toolkit lives in our digital sabotage guide.
Laptop free-for-all
When the boss announces a meeting and leaves, a free-for-all can start with one instruction: smack everyone with your laptop. Click co-workers to rack up points on everyone in the room. When it's over, the points leader is declared King of the office — and the boss walks back in and orders everyone back to their seats.
Paper War
The game assigns you a side ('You're on the blue side') and the office splits in two. Keep clicking to throw paper across the office at the opposing side; the round ends with a side call like 'Blue side wins'. It can interrupt a normal shift, so the moment paper starts flying, check your color and throw at the other side.
The boss's roll call
Mid-meeting, the boss can stop everyone's work and call names one by one. The action is a single input: raise your hand when he calls yours. Do it and the check is complete; ignore it and you're killed on the spot — one player watched the boss wipe out his whole team that way. The how not to get fired guide has more on surviving meetings.
Boss day off and break-time rounds
Boss day off strings several rounds together, and some of them — Hot Coffee among them — also appear during mandatory break time.
Paper-throwing at the boss
The on-screen prompt says it all: click the boss to throw. Keep clicking to land paper-ball hits on him until a winner is declared. Expect some misses — the aiming area is awkward — and treat any payout as a bonus rather than a given: the winner in one recorded run received 25 Robux.
Musical Chairs
Players are eliminated round by round, with an explosion for each elimination, until one chair remains. Hold W to move, but your character only actually advances during the game's unlocked movement windows. When W does nothing, movement is locked — be ready to move the instant the window opens. The last player seated is crowned musical chairs king.
Hot Coffee
Hot potato, office edition. The coffee gets passed between players, tag-backs are banned ('No tag backs, bro'), and the whole game is about never being the one holding it. Stay out of everyone's reach so nobody can hand it to you. Being empty-handed when the round ends wins; the player left stuck with the coffee loses.
Find the Button
Multiple buttons hide around the office, and they spawn in different locations each round. Run around and click every one of them — the fastest cursor collects the set and takes the round. It appears on boss day off and in early-day sessions, and it can even open your very first day at the job.
The Halloween skeleton fight
One fight sits outside the regular loop. During the limited-time Halloween event, the office can be cast into the afterlife to face a giant skeleton across three stages. Shoot him through stages one and two; in stage three you have to dodge his attacks while keeping up the fire until he dies. Beating him grants an event badge that roughly 27% of players hold, and playing through the event rewarded a limited chair skin at the end. The game's first Halloween event ran until October 31 — check the skeleton encounter guide and the updates page to see whether it has returned.
If you're new to the shift itself, how not to get fired walks through the base loop, the work tasks guide covers the work phase that comes before most of these rounds, and the event guides cover the other surprises the office springs on you.
